Dear Soldiers of Peace,
Today, we would like to explain the situation we are going through, in a transparent and honest way, so that you are 100% aware.
Our beautiful community, you, are super important to us.
That’s why we want to give you some details about our situation.
The War-Race team consists of 6 people who are passionate about sports, culture, and history. 6 people with a full-time job on the side.
As you know, we started on January 5, 2020, with our very first edition in Bastogne which was directly sold out with 1400 participants.
This touched us enormously and we didn’t stop there. The welcome we have received since that day from every city in different countries is enormous and that’s why we could already have 5 new editions to make this magnificent project grow.
But then the Covid appeared and blocked the whole world. We have always kept hope to be able to resume 100% sooner or later.
In September 2020, we were able to organize the Battle of Arnhem, despite a huge drop in participants. There were only 300 participants left, but we still wanted to do the event. Then everything just stopped.
Organizing an obstacle course also means facing organizational and financial challenges. We can honestly tell you that you need a minimum of 600 participants to simply cover the costs of such an event. In our case, we also have to count the investment of the KAMO jackets.
Current Situation & Decisions
Today, we have 5 new editions, but only 100 to 200 participants for each of these editions, which is simply too few to ensure a correct and safe event for all of you.
For this reason, we have to take an important decision to ensure the continuity of this magnificent project.
We are obliged to simply refocus on our first 2 events for 2022 until the health and financial situation allows us to do the other editions again.
We will keep the Battle of the Bulge on 16/01/2022 in Bastogne and the Battle of Arnhem on 25/09/2022 in Arnhem.
How will we proceed?
First of all, we would like to thank everyone who has already bought a ticket to support us!
All your tickets (D-Day, Ypres, and Yser) will be transferred to Battle of the Bulge on 16 JAN 2022 or Battle of Arnhem, at your choice.
To thank you for your trust, we will give you all an extra ticket to bring one person with you for free.
This ticket will be in the form of a promo code that you can use right now for one of the two races of your choice.
If you can’t come at all, we will refund 50% of your ticket. The remaining 50% will be redeemed as a 50% discount voucher that you can use for another War race event.
If you have bought a KAMO, we understand that you want to have it already despite the fact that events are postponed. We will arrange it so you can either pick it up or get it delivered.
You also have the option of transferring your War race ticket to Ultimate Warrior in October.
In agreement with BOCRA, we can also announce that the Belgian championship is transferred to the Battle of the Bulge
We can understand that everyone wants to wait until the last minute to register in view of the situation. But for a young project like ours, this is impossible to manage.
To reassure you of your purchase, we will do something new:
From now on, all new registrations will be fully refunded if the race should be canceled again in case the threshold of 600 registrants is not reached.
On the registration page of our website, we will display the status of registrations in real-time, so that you can see the progress of registrations.
This means that you no longer have to worry about the event being canceled in order to buy a ticket in advance. You can buy your ticket as soon as possible to take advantage of the best prices, being assured of a possible refund if the 600 threshold is not reached.
We are counting on all of you to support this project that you like so much to ensure its survival.
A new start in 2022 (post-Covid) – We will gradually relaunch :
Bastogne (BE) – 16 Jan 2022
Arnhem (NL) – Sept 25, 2022
D-Day (FR) – 2023 (date still to be defined)
and progressively, we will add an edition each year.
We have pre-registration for all editions of +/- 800 people and the goal is to gather all the SOP in 2022 + the new registrations to reach the threshold of 600 minimum per event.

Our beautiful project is seriously injured by COVID, but it is not dead!
We are a young team that runs and crosses obstacles like the races we organize. We’ve been fighting in a complicated lion’s den – COVID.
We all come out of it together, but we need to catch our breath before we head back to the next checkpoint.
We are tired but motivated and above all a team that is motivated and fights to win!
We remain motivated, we will continue. We thank you for your loyalty.
We are sure we can count on the understanding of our wonderful community and hope to see you again in Bastogne for the Second Edition in September 2022.
